Program Description

Our Semester Program removes barriers that prevent athletes from studying abroad while using sports as a vehicle to increase cultural immersion. Students in our New Zealand semester program will experience the lifestyle of a New Zealand university student while having ample opportunities to continue training and playing their sport. Massey University is recognized as a Center for Excellence in Sports, and has been named the first “athlete friendly” university in New Zealand. Through the Global Student Athlete (GSA) Program, international students are able to enroll in a competitive sport and fitness program while studying abroad.

Housing
Students live in residence halls on campus with domestic students and other visiting international students. Residence halls are situated within a 5 minute walk from labs, lecture theaters, the Recreation Center, the Athletic Track, and the Equestrian Center. Residential Assistants and Managers live on site to ensure students have 24/7 support.

Meals

You may select housing with a meal plan included, or if you’re living in an apartment, you may opt out of a meal plan. There are three tiers of meal plans to choose from, designed to fit around different lifestyles, study/ workout schedules, and budgets.
