Academic Credit
Our internships allows students to gain academic credit for internships, practicums, or independent research.

Register for academic credit through your home institution
Students typically register for academic credit through their home institution in one of three ways:

-
Directly through their academic department,
-
Through the Study Abroad, Global Studies, or International Education Office, or
-
Through the Career Services office for internships or experiential learning opportunities.

If you’re interested in earning academic credit for your study abroad experience, the first step is to consult with your Academic Advisor in your major or minor department. They can help determine how your program can align with your degree requirements and whether or not you can receive direct academic credit with one of our programs. Note: None of our internship programs include an Official Transcript.

Once you’ve gathered the necessary academic credit requirements from your university, we will work closely with you to ensure that your internship or program placement meets these requirements. Typical requirements might include pre-approved job descriptions, evaluation forms, minimum internship hours, weekly reflections/journaling, etc.
Please note, the cost of academic credit is set by your home university and is based on their per-credit-hour fee structure. Whether students receive an "internship" credit that goes towards their major, or an "elective" credit that goes towards general requirements depends on the school.
